Graduate Study Grant Opportunities in the United States

I) Egyptian Student Program

(1) Master’s degree: up to two years for persons wishing to pursue post-graduate degrees in the U.S.

(2) Non-degree: up to 9 months for persons registered for post-graduate degrees in Egyptian universities wishing to conduct research in the U.S.

(3) Fine and Applied Arts: up 109 months for artists wishing to conduct field research or attend master classes in the L’S. 

General Eligibility Requirements: Egyptian citizenship, bachelor’s degree, minimum ‘Good” for applicants in American studies, humanities, and social sciences and minimum of ”Very Good’ for applicants in the sciences, two years post-graduate experience and minimum Local TOFEL score of 550 from AMIDLAS’I or any LIS approved center.

Eligible Fields: All fields EXCEPT medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine

II) Egyptian Student Program-Islamic Studies (Al Azhar University)

(1) Master’s degree: up to two years for persons wishing to pursue master’s degrees in the U.S.

(2) Non-degree: up to 9 months for persons registered for Ph.D. degrees wishing to conduct research in the U.S.

(3) Ph.D. degree: for persons wishing to pursue Ph.D. study in the U.S.

General Eligibility Requirements: Egyptian citizenship, Al Azhar University graduate (Islamic Studies, bachelor’s degree. minimum “Good”, and -- in categories I and 2 -- minimum Local TOEFL score of 450 and in category 3—minimum Local TOFEL score of 500 from AMIDEAST or any ETS approved center.

III) Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program (Competition will be announced in early April 2013) A 9-month non-degree program mainly for teachers of’ English as a second language (ESL). For more details, please visit Fulbright Commission website at www.fulbright-egypt.org
