Would like to announce the following immediate  vacancies for Electricity and water authority

1- Head, Materials and civil maintenance:

 (position for Engineering services)

• To provide highly technical expert advice and guidance relating to Electricity Transmission Networks specifications, material procurement, maintenance management matters and all aspects of standards, procedures, tender evaluation and negotiation.
• Review, evaluate, and monitor implementation of safety standards, operational and maintenance procedures, update, develop adopt best practices and all technical auditing.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. BSc. In Civil Engineering
2. At least 5 years experience in the same field

2- Electrical Engineering Specialist: 

(position for planning and development)

• To provide decision support to director in areas of system development, planning and design, resources utilization, personnel development, and internal/ external coordination.

3- Sr.Electrical Engineer:

(position for planning and development – engineering services – networks substations – operation and system control)

• Carry out short term and long term plans related to operations and maintenance activities and system upgrading of electricity transmission network
• Ensure high standard operational availability to high voltage equipment up to 220kv (power transformers, switchegears, power and communication cables, communication activities.

4- Electrical engineer:

(position for engineering services – networks – substations – operating and system control)

• Plan, execute and monitors programs for planned and post fault maintenance and commissioning to high voltage equipment (swithcegears, transformers, power and communication cables, protection and control) up to 220kv including testing and commissioning
• Performs switching operations and issues work permits
• Determine the requirements for materials, spares and services base on maintenance and upgrading work

Qualifications and experience:

1. BSc. In electrical engineering
2. 3 to 5 years’ experience in the same field

5- Sr. electrical engineering technician:

(position for networks – substations – operation and system control)

• Carry out switching operations, issue/ cancel safety documents
• Ensure the execution of works related to preventive, corrective, and fault maintenance, upgrading works including cable diversion, repair, and location cable oil leaks.
• Testing of high voltage equipment (swithcgears, transformers, power and communication cables, protection and control) up to 220kv
• Prepare daily, periodical and system disturbance reports

6- Electrical engineering technician:

(position for engineering services – substations)

• Assist in arrangement and implementation of switching operations, testing and commissioning for high voltage equipment of electricity transmission network, supervise contractors staff and issue the safery documents to ensure compliance with EWA safety rules, process permit requests, prepare snag lists and inspect new plant prior taking over
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance and testing of metering, control and auxiliaries equipment in transmission network up to 220kv

7- Cable jointer: 

(position for networks)

• Carry out all works related to transmission power and communication cable jointing, terminating, sheath and oil leak repairing

Qualification and experience:

1. Diploma in electrical engineering
2. At least 3 years’ experience in the same filed

Employee for job no. 1 to 7 will receive a tax-free lump-sum salary includes all allowances in two years initial contract renewable upon mutual agreement (salary includes housing allowance, travel tickets, transport, children education, etc) other benefits include 42 days annual leave, he is entitles to use without charge the full range of free medical and health services provided by ministry of health, air ticket and air cargo service at the beginning and end of contract

8- Switchgear specialist: 

(position for substations)

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on 66 kv switchgear
• Perform operational checks and maintenance testing on 66kv switchgear
• Check SF6 gas moisture content, to attend SF6 gas/ oil leaks and to refill as necessary

9- Cable specialist: 

(position for networks)

• Assist in all activities related to maintenance, testing, diversion, upgrading and repair works of transmission power and communication cables and communication cables (fiver optic and pilot cables)

10- Linesman: 

(position for substations)

• Carry out all activities related to maintenance and repair of overhead transmission lines

11- Transformer specialist: 

(position for substations)

• Cary out routine, corrective and fault maintenance of transformers/ reactors
• Collect oil samples from transformers/ reactors
• Carry out oil filtration process on transformers/ reactors

Qualification and experience:

• Technical secondary school certificate 9electrical)
• At least 3 years’ experience in the same filed

For job no 8 to 11 will receive tax-free negotiable depending on qualification and experience, two years initial contract renewable every two years upon mutual agreement, benefits include travel tickets and free medical treatment in ministry of health hospitals. Incumbent will also receive and annual gratuity at the end of each calendar year, housing allowance, air cargo service at beginning and end of contract. Other benefits include 42 – calendar days leave and any other allowances that will be determined but the employing authority following successful selection.
